Last updated: 25 August 2026
These Terms & Conditions apply when you purchase products, personalised items or commissioned artwork from BEAUTIFUL HUMAN DESIGNS LTD (“Beautiful Human Designs”, “BHD”, “I”, “me” or “my”) through beautifulhumandesigns.com or directly from me.
I’ve tried to keep these terms as straightforward as possible. By placing an order, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Placing an order
Products available through the online shop can be ordered directly through the website.
When you place an order, please check that the information you provide, including your name, delivery address and any personalisation details, is correct.
You will receive confirmation when your order has been successfully placed.
I reserve the right to decline or cancel an order where, for example, a product is unavailable, there has been an obvious pricing or description error, payment cannot be authorised, or I am unable to fulfil the order.
If payment has already been taken for an order I cannot fulfil, you will receive a refund.
Prices & payment
Prices are shown in pounds sterling (£).
Any applicable delivery charges will be shown before you complete your purchase.
Online shop payments are processed securely through Wix using the payment methods available at checkout, which currently include Visa, Mastercard and American Express.
Beautiful Human Designs does not directly store your full payment card details.
I try very hard to make sure prices and product information are correct. If an obvious error occurs, I will contact you before fulfilling the order and give you the choice of proceeding at the correct price or cancelling for a refund.
Products & printing
Every Beautiful Human Designs design starts with my own artwork.
For products such as cards, clothing, mugs and other printed items, the original artwork is reproduced onto the relevant product.
Some products are produced and/or fulfilled on my behalf by carefully selected print-on-demand or production partners. This means your item may be made after you place your order and may be sent directly from a fulfilment partner.
I do my best to show products and artwork accurately, but colours may vary slightly between screens and printed products. Minor variations in positioning, colour or finish may also occur as part of the printing and production process.
These small variations are not normally considered faults.
Personalised products
Some products may be personalised or customised especially for you.
Personalisation could include a name, wording, photograph, pet, individual artwork or another customer-requested alteration.
Please check all names, wording, photographs and other details carefully before submitting your order. I cannot be responsible for errors contained in information supplied or approved by you.
If I spot something that looks wrong, I’ll do my best to check it with you before production.
Once production of a genuinely personalised or bespoke item has begun, it may not be possible to change or cancel the order.
This does not affect your rights if an item is faulty, damaged or not as described.
Commissioned artwork
Commissioned portraits are created individually from photographs and information supplied by you.
Before I start, we will agree the basic requirements for your commission, including the subject, approximate size, price and an estimated timescale.
Each commission is individually created, so completion times can vary depending on the complexity of the drawing and how busy my pencils are!
I will give you an estimated timeframe before beginning. If you need your portrait for a particular date, please tell me before the commission is agreed. I will only treat a particular completion date as guaranteed where I have expressly agreed this with you
Reference photographs
The finished portrait will be based on the photographs you provide.
Clear, well-lit photographs with visible detail generally produce the best results. I will do my best to let you know before I begin if I think a photograph may be difficult to work from.
The quality and level of detail I can reproduce will depend on the reference material supplied. I cannot recreate details that are not reasonably visible in the original photographs.
Where appropriate, I may use digital tools to help plan composition, proportions or layout before drawing. The finished original artwork itself is drawn by hand.
You confirm that you have the right or appropriate permission to provide any photographs or other reference material you send to me for the purpose of creating your commission.
Checking your commission & revisions
Before your commissioned artwork is completed, I will send you a preview so you can check it.
Your commission includes up to two rounds of reasonable minor revisions at this stage.
Minor revisions might include small adjustments to details that can reasonably be changed without substantially redrawing the artwork.
Significant changes, such as changing the reference photograph, substantially changing the composition or requesting major alterations after drawing has begun, may incur an additional charge.
If an additional charge applies, I will always discuss and agree this with you before carrying out the additional work.
Once you have approved the final preview, the commission will be treated as approved for completion.
Payment for commissions
Unlike standard shop purchases, commissioned artwork is not normally paid for at the beginning of the drawing process.
Once you are happy with the agreed revisions and have approved the commission, full payment will be requested before the finished artwork is prepared and dispatched.
Your artwork will not be dispatched until payment has been received.
Cancelling a commission
If you change your mind before I have started work on your commission, please contact me as soon as possible.
If work has already begun and you decide to cancel, I reserve the right to charge a reasonable amount for the work already completed.
Where no payment has yet been taken, I will explain any charge before requesting payment.
Once a bespoke commission has been completed, approved and paid for, it cannot normally be returned simply because you have changed your mind.
This does not affect your statutory rights if the artwork is faulty, damaged or not as agreed.
Delivery
Online shop orders are currently available for delivery within the UK.
Ready-made and standard shop products will normally be dispatched within approximately 3–4 working days, unless a different timeframe is stated on the product page.
Personalised, print-on-demand and commissioned products may take longer. Where possible, an estimated timeframe will be provided when you order or arrange your commission.
Delivery dates are estimates unless I have expressly agreed a specific date with you.
Occasionally delays may occur that are outside my reasonable control. If there is a significant delay, please contact me and I will do my best to help.
International commissions
Although standard website orders are currently for UK delivery, I may agree to send commissioned artwork internationally.
International delivery must be agreed with me before the commission is finalised.
Delivery costs, estimated timescales and the appropriate shipping method will be discussed with you individually.
International customers are responsible for any applicable customs duties, import taxes or local charges imposed in their country.
Damaged, faulty or incorrect items
I want your order to reach you safely and for you to be happy with it.
If something arrives damaged, faulty, incorrect or not as described, please contact me as soon as reasonably possible at: hello@beautifulhumandesigns.com.
Where possible, please include photographs of the item and packaging, as this can help me resolve the problem quickly.
Depending on the circumstances and your legal rights, I may arrange a replacement, repair or refund.
Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights in relation to faulty, damaged or misdescribed goods.
Returns & change of mind
For standard, non-personalised goods purchased online, you will normally have the right to change your mind and cancel your purchase within 14 days of receiving the goods, subject to the exceptions provided by consumer law.
If you wish to cancel or return an eligible item, please contact me at hello@beautifulhumandesigns.com for return instructions.
Unless the item is faulty, damaged or incorrect, you will normally be responsible for the cost of returning it.
Returned goods should be kept in reasonable condition while they are in your care.
Personalised or bespoke items made specifically to your requirements, including commissioned portraits, do not normally carry the same change-of-mind cancellation right once they have been made or personalised.
Your rights relating to faulty, damaged or misdescribed items still apply.
Refunds
Where a refund is due, it will normally be made using the original payment method.
I will process refunds within the time required by applicable consumer law.
Depending on your bank or payment provider, it may take additional time for the refunded amount to appear in your account.
Gift cards & commission vouchers
Beautiful Human Designs gift cards and commission vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase, unless a different period is clearly stated when purchased.
For commission vouchers, the recipient simply needs to contact me to begin arranging their commission before the voucher expires. The finished artwork does not necessarily need to be completed before the expiry date.
Gift cards and vouchers cannot normally be exchanged for cash.
If a voucher is being used towards something costing more than its value, the remaining balance will need to be paid.
Please look after gift cards and voucher details carefully.
Nothing in this section affects any statutory rights you may have.
Copyright & intellectual property
All original artwork, illustrations, designs, photographs, branding and other creative content produced by Beautiful Human Designs remain protected by intellectual property law.
Unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing, copyright in commissioned artwork remains with BEAUTIFUL HUMAN DESIGNS LTD.
When you purchase an original or commissioned drawing, you are purchasing the physical artwork, not the copyright in the design.
You are very welcome to display and enjoy your artwork for personal use.
You may not reproduce, copy, commercially exploit, sell reproductions of, create merchandise from or otherwise use my artwork commercially without my prior written permission.
If you would like to license a design or discuss commercial use, please get in touch.
Sharing commissioned artwork
I love sharing finished drawings, but I also respect that commissions can be personal.
Photographs supplied to create a commission will not be used for marketing or promotional purposes without appropriate permission.
Where I would like to share a finished commissioned portrait on my website, social media or other promotional material, I will ask for permission where appropriate.
You are under no obligation to agree.
Customer-supplied content
When you provide photographs, wording, logos or other material for personalisation or commissioned artwork, you confirm that you have the right or appropriate permission to provide and use that material for the requested purpose.
Please do not submit material that is unlawful, offensive, discriminatory, defamatory or infringes another person's intellectual property or privacy rights.
I reserve the right to decline a commission or personalised order that I am not comfortable creating.
Under 18s
Beautiful Human Designs products are not age-restricted products.
If you are under 18, you should have permission from a parent or guardian before placing an order.
For higher-value commissions or where appropriate, I may ask for a parent or guardian to be involved in agreeing the commission.
Using this website
You may use beautifulhumandesigns.com for personal and lawful purposes.
Website content, artwork, images, designs and branding must not be copied, reproduced, distributed or used commercially without permission.
You must not knowingly misuse the website, attempt to interfere with its operation or introduce malicious software or other harmful material.
Liability
I am responsible for losses that are a foreseeable result of Beautiful Human Designs breaching these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill.
I am not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was made.
Beautiful Human Designs supplies products primarily for private and personal use. Unless specifically agreed otherwise, I am not responsible for business losses arising from the use of products purchased as a consumer.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or your statutory consumer rights.
Privacy
Your personal information will be handled in accordance with the Beautiful Human Designs Privacy Policy.
Please see the Privacy Policy on this website for information about what data I collect, how it is used and your rights.
Changes to these terms
I may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time, for example if my products, services or legal obligations change.
The terms that apply to your purchase will generally be those in force when your order is placed.
The latest version will always be available on this website.
Governing law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you live elsewhere in the UK, you may also have rights under the laws applicable where you live.
Nothing in these terms affects any mandatory consumer rights or legal protections available to you.
Questions or problems?
If something isn't right, or you're unsure about anything before ordering, please just get in touch. I'd much rather sort out a question before it becomes a problem.
